We all have a certain fear of the strange and unknown, that is normal. But is it really a fear...or is it more like human nature to just be curious.....? Here I have put together some "strange facts and lore for your Haunting Halloween pleasure.....turn out the lights and enjoy......
Strange Rain --------------------------------- The term "It's raining cats and dogs" was invented in part of because of the sound the rain makes when it hits something like a metal or tin roof. Dogs howling on a cold and stormy night can actually sound like gushing winds or even thunder in a distance. Sometimes rain can have colors. The term "Red Rain" is also known as a blood shower, and got that name because some rains can mix with a fine volcanic dust and actually appear to be raining red. During the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D., there was pumice stones "rained" on the darkened cities at the foot of the mountains. ------------------------------------------------ Of all the rains seen across the vast world, the strangest rain of them all is called "Frog Rain" and it means actually what it says. During violent wind storms, often frog eggs and new hatchlings get picked up from river beds and lakes and carried off into the sky. When the winds die down enough, the eggs which can often hatch while in the air and the already born hatchlings then fall back to the earth, appearing as millions of rain drops.
One thing anyone who knows The Ghostmaster understands is that I love storms. Rain, Thunder, Lightning, Hail, all of everything that makes a huge raging storm. --------------------------------------- Lightning as you may know is a charge of electricity found in a cloud. The electrical charge can happen between parts of the same cloud or between two seperate clouds. When electricity stays in the cloud it is not dangerous. However when the electricity runs through the cloud and hits the earth, it is called lightning and can be extremely dangerous. --------------------------------------------------- Clouds are made up of small droplets of water, the larger drops carry a positive charge of electricity and are heavy, so they fall to the earth. The smaller droplets carry a negative charge and rise upwards. If the two charges touch each other, it creates a spark. That is per droplet, now imagine several droplets all touching one another, you will see an entire sky full of lightning. -------------------------------------------------- There are four types of lightning, "forked" or the zig zag formation. "Sheet" lightning which is a very bright illumination that covers almost the entire sky. "Heat" lightning, which appears similar to "sheet" lightning, but is much lighter and appears very distanced. "Ball" lightning gets it's name because it appears exactly how it says, like a ball of light in the sky. Ball lightning does not seem to be as dangerous as the others if it is dangerous at all. Very rarely will Ball lightning ever touch ground.
