Lizzie Borden
August 4th 1892, Lizzie Borden was said to have commited one of the most horrendous crimes imaginable.
It was believed that sometime around or after 11:15 am that morning, Lizzie commited patricide.
Or in other words, she killed her parents.

Her mother had been chopped up with an axe, struck 40 times until she was dead.
Andrew J Borden was found dead, he had been struck 41 times with the same axe that killed his wife.
Fall River Massachusetts saw the opening of something that to this day could not be lived down.
Lizzie was brought to trial for the murders of both her mother and father June 5th 1893 and it lasted 14 days.

The prosecution claimed that Lizzie had to have commited these terrible crims because she wanted the $25,000 dollars that was to be left to her and her sister.
However the defense called upon Emma Borden to testify in Lizzie's defense, and pointed out that there had been a mysterious young man hanging around the Borden home days before and on the murder.

The overall events of that morning had been unclear, but the evening of August 3rd proved to be of great interest.
Lizzie was reporteed as going to a friend's house, upset and agitated. She told the friend she feared for her father's life.
Earlier that morning, Abby Borden, Lizzie's mother had gone across the street from their home to se Dr. Bowen.
She told him that both she and Andrew had been violently ill the night before and feared that they were being poisoned.
No poisons were found during their autopsys however.
There had been some speculation to the man called Uncle John who showed up on the night of the 3rd without any luggage and planned to spend the night at the Borden home.
In any event, the murders happened, but Lizzie was set free.

The Borden home is now a bed and breakfast that gathers quite a bit of attention and has numerous guests who want to see the house where Lizzie Borden was said to have given her mother 40 whacks, when seeing what she had done, gave her father 41
