| JEEPERS CREEPERS -------------------------------------------- Directed by Victor Salva, this is a genuine all out horror movie. For people familiar with Salva's past, if you can forget about that for even a second to really watch this movie, you will find one hell of a scare flick. Francis Ford Coppola produced this movie, and it shows both fingerprints of both men all over it. In this movie, much like Salva's prior work "Clownhouse", Jeepers Creepers is about a young boy who is terrorized by a demon creature. The film stars Gina Phillips and Justin Long, as a brother and sister who while traveling across country, take a back road. Along the way, they see a figure dumping what appears to be a body into an old basement of a Church. Naturally they must go and investigate to see what it really was. Then the movie begins... If you were a fan of Steven Speilberg's "Duel" or Wes Craven's "Last house on the Left" then you will find yourself cheering and screaming at this masterpiece of a horror movie. The ending I found was a little bland, but the rest of the movie more than makes up for that. NOTE; Whatever your views on Victor Salva may be for those familiar with his past, try not to let that get in the way of seeing this movie. The movie is not the man, and it is a must see for horror fans |

| JACK FROST --------------------------------- Personally, I hated this movie. But I know that some horror fans might have actually sat through it and liked it. So for those who have yet to actually sit down and watch this...here goes The movie stars Scott MacDonald and Christopher Allport. The storyline goes like this.... While convicted murderer (MacDonald) is being transported by a police van to his new incarceration facility, the van is wrecked when it crashes into a truck carrying some sort of genetic material and MacDonald is nearly killed. Nearly. Needless to say, his gentic materials begin to blend and led with the gentic materials in the snow and suddenly he has become....are you ready for this? A walking, talking, killing snowman. His killing spree picks right up with a great scene of him beheading a town bully with the blade of a sleigh, and another rather "borish" scene where he pops up from a woman's bathtub to kill her. This movie to me, to me I say was a waste of time and energy for director Michael Cooney and anyone who saw it. But as I said before, some people like this type of stuff and so it is in my review section. If I had to give advice on this one... AVOID But if you're into killer, raping snowmen, then by all means, have a go! |
